60th Anniversary Season Of The Culver CITY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA Continues With a Warm Winter Welcome

Music Director Clyde Mitchell welcomes us to a Winter Wonderland with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 1, "Winter Dreams on" Sunday, January 26, at 7:00 PM

The program will include: William Grant Still (1895-1978): Fanfare for American Heroes (1942), Johann Strauss II (1825-1899): Tales from the Vienna Woods, Op. 325 (1868), Traditional, arr Raymond Horton: Freedom Bound

, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor (1875-1912): Novellette II, Larghetto, Op. 52 (1903), Frederick Delius (1862-1934): Sleigh Ride (1890)

INTERMISSION

Followed by: Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893): Symphony No. 1 in G minor, Op. 13 "Winter Dreams" (1866, Dreams of a Winter Journey: Allegro tranquillo, Land of Desolation, Land of Mists: Adagio cantabile ma non tanto, Scherzo: Allegro scherzando giocoso, Finale: Andante lugubre – Allegro maestoso.
