Culver City Police Save the Holidays for Walk 'n Rollers
Police Recover Stolen Trailer, Arrest Suspect, and Rally Resources to Replace Equipment for Local Organization in Time for the Holidays
When Culver City Police learned on November 22nd that the trailer belonging to local organization Walk 'n Rollers had been stolen, with all its equipment inside, they sprang into action.
Investigators knew locating the trailer would prove difficult, but they dug in and got to work. A few weeks later, the work paid off. Thanks to the diligent work of detectives, there was a break in the case. An arrest was made, and the trailer was recovered.
Recognizing that many scooters, bikes, and equipment were not recovered, Culver City Police gathered resources and worked to replace the items. Days before Christmas and Hanukkah, department members assembled bikes and gear. Just before the holidays, officers delivered the bikes, scooters, helmets, and equipment to Walk 'n Rollers leader Jim Shanman. "This is just fantastic," " Jim shared as police carried the items to him.
Thank you to all who supported this effort. From the tremendous work of our officers and investigators to the donors from the Culver City Police Foundation and Target, it was a team effort to rally in support of this theft victim.
