2024 NFL Power Rankings – Week 9

1. Kansas City Chiefs (7-0): Tight end Travis Kelce came alive in the Chiefs 27-20 win over the Raiders in Las Vegas. Kelce had 10 receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown, his first TD reception of the season as the undefeated Chiefs just keep rolling along. Next: -8.5 vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Mon, Nov. 4, 5:15 PM PT – O/U: 45.5 (ATS: 5-2 – O/U: 3-4) Win probability: 78.4%

2. Detroit Lions (6-1): The Lions had a net 61 yards passing and were held to 225 yards in total offense, but somehow defeated the Titans, 52-14. Four turnovers by the Titans helped. General Manager Brad Holmes has done an outstanding job of putting talent together in Detroit. Next: -3.5 at Green Bay Packers – Sun, Nov. 3, 1:25 PM PT – O/U: 48.5 (ATS: 6-1 – O/U: 4-3) Win probability: 62.3%

3. Buffalo Bills (6-2): The Bills easily defeated the Seahawks in Seattle, 31-10. The Bills have won four of their six games by at least 21 points, as they circle the date of Sunday, November 17, which is their home game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Next: -6 vs Miami Dolphins - Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U: 49.5 (ATS: 5-3 – O/U: 4-4) Win probability: 77.0%

4. Green Bay Packers (6-2): The Packers hung on for a 30-17 victory over the Jaguars in Jacksonville. Running back Josh Jacobs, who the Raiders apparently didn't need on their roster, rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. Jacobs was a first-team All-Pro in 2022 with the Raiders but left as a free-agent in the 2024 off-season. Next: +3.5 vs Detroit Lions - Sun, Nov. 3, 1:25 PM PT – O/U: 48.5 (ATS: 4-4 – O/U: 4-3-1) probability: 37.7%

5. Minnesota Vikings (5-2): The Vikings suffered their second consecutive loss after a 5-0 start to the Rams, 30-20. Former USC quarterback Sam Darnold played well in his return to Southern California, completing 18 of 25 passes for 240 yards, but it was not enough in the Thursday Night matchup. Next: -5 vs Indianapolis Colts – Sun, Nov. 3, 5:20 PM PT – O/U: 46.5 (ATS: 5-2 – O/U: 3-4) Win probability: 69.6%

6. Houston Texans (6-2): The Texans escaped with a victory over the Colts, 23-20 but lost wide receiver Stefon Diggs for the season with a torn ACL injury. Head coach DeMeco Ryans is excited to see who steps up next at wide receiver, but he should also want to see who is going to step up on the offensive line, which has allowed 23 sacks and the 4th most pressures in the NFL on quarterback C.J. Stroud. Next: +1.5 at New York Jets – Thu, Oct. 31, 5:15 PM PT – O/U 42 (ATS: 3-4-1 – O/U: 2-6) Win probability: 51.2%

7. Washington Commanders (6-2): The Commanders beat the Bears on a 52-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass from rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels to wide receiver Noah Brown to win 18-15. The Commanders are all alone in first place in the NFC East. Next: -3.5 at New York Giants – Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U: 43.5 (ATS: 5-1-1 – O/U: 5-3) Win probability: 59.6%

8. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2): The Steelers continue to win, knocking off the Giants 26-18. Quarterback Russell Wilson seems to have found a home in Pittsburgh after being traded from both Seattle and Denver. Wilson completed 20 of 28 passes for 278 yards and a touchdown in the victory. Next: Bye – Following week: N/A at Washington Commanders – Sun, Nov. 10, 10:00 AM PT – O/U: N/A (ATS: 5-2 – O/U: 3-4) Win probability: N/A%

9. Baltimore Ravens (5-3): The Ravens defense collapsed against the Browns and quarterback Jameis Winston in a stunning 29-24 loss to the Browns. Winston threw for 334 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win. Needing help on defense, the Ravens traded for wide receiver Diontae Johnson from the Panthers for 5th and 6th round draft picks. Go figure. Next: -9 vs Denver Broncos – Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U 45.5 (ATS: 4-3-1 – O/U: 7-1) Win probability: 80.6%

10. Philadelphia Eagles (5-2): The Eagles easily defeated the Bengals in Cincinnati, 37-17. Quarterback Jalen Hurts rushed for three touchdowns and passed for another in the victory. Running back Saquon Barkley had another good day and is ranked second in the NFL in rushing yardage with 766 yards through seven games. Next: -7.5 vs Jacksonville Jaguars – Sun, Nov. 3, 1:05 PM PT – O/U: 45.5 (ATS: 4-3 – O/U: 3-4) Win probability: 72.1%

11. Atlanta Falcons (5-3): The Falcons are all alone in first place in the NFC South after defeating the Buccaneers 31-26 in Tampa. The Falcons also have the head-to-head advantage over the Bucs with the season sweep of the Bucs. Quarterback Kirk Cousins threw four touchdown passes in the game, two to tight end Kyle Pitts. Next: -2.5 vs Dallas Cowboys – Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U: 52 (ATS: 4-4 – O/U: 4-4) Win probability: 63.0%

12. Los Angeles Chargers (4-3): The Chargers defense continues to impress in a 26-8 win over the Saints. The Chargers are allowing just 13 points per game, the lowest in the NFL. It helps that Justin Herbert has only thrown one interception in seven games. The Chargers have four turnovers in seven games, third best in the NFL. Next: -1.5 at Cleveland Browns - Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U: 43 (ATS: 4-3 – O/U: 1-6) Win probability: 58.7%

13. Denver Broncos (5-3): The Broncos became the latest team to beat up on the Panthers, winning 28-14. The Broncos have won five of their last six games, with the loss coming at the hands of the Chargers in Denver. Next: +9 at Baltimore Ravens - Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U: 45.5 (ATS: 6-2 – O/U: 5-3) Win probability: 19.4%

14. Arizona Cardinals (4-4): Quarterback Kyler Murray rallied the Cardinals from a 27-18 fourth quarter deficit to a 28-27 victory, with kicker Brett Ryland giving the Cardinals a win with a 34-yard field goal with no time on the clock. The win was the third in four games for the Cardinals and moved them into first place in the NFL West with a 2-0 division record. Next: -1 vs Chicago Bears - Sun, Nov. 3, 1:05 PM PT – O/U: 44.5 (ATS: 5-3 – O/U: 4-3-1) Win probability: 51.2%

15. San Francisco 49ers (4-4): Quarterback Brock Purdy got hot in the 3rd quarter, leading the 49ers on three touchdown drives in the quarter in a 30-24 comeback win over the Cowboys. The Cowboys led 10-6 at halftime. Tight end George Kittle caught six passes for 128 yards and one touchdown in the win. Next: Bye – Following week: N/A at Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Sun, Nov. 10, 10;00 AM PT – O/U: N/A (ATS: 4-4 – O/U: 5-3) Win probability: N/A%

16. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-4): The Buccaneers lost to the Falcons Sunday despite Quarterback Baker Mayfield's efforts. Mayfield threw for 330 yards and three touchdowns, but it was not enough to overcome another lousy defensive effort. The Bucs are ranked 30th in defensive yardage allowed at 387 yards per game. Next: +8.5 at Kansas City Chiefs – Mon, Nov. 4, 5:15 PM PT – O/U: 45.5 (ATS: 4-4 – O/U: 6-2) Win probability: 21.6%

17. Chicago Bears (4-3): The Bears loss to the Commanders on a 52-yard Hail May touchdown pass from Jayden Daniels to Noah Brown, 18-15. The Bears coaching staff made several mistakes late in the game, including allowing a 13-yard completion to set-up the Hail Mary and not utilizing any of their three timeouts to set-up their defense, which proved to be fatal for the game and probably the coaching staff at the end of the season. Next: +1 at Arizona Cardinals - Sun, Nov. 3, 1:05 PM PT – O/U: 44.5 (ATS: 4-2-1 – O/U: 3-4) Win probability: 48.8%

18. Seattle Seahawks (4-4): The Seahawks were blown out by the Bills, 31-10 in Seattle. The Seahawks could not run the ball, gaining 32 yards on 17 carries and with star wide receiver DK Metcalf out with a knee injury, the team had no chance to beat the Bills. Next: +2 vs Los Angeles Rams - Sun, Nov. 3, 1:25 PM PT – O/U: 48 (ATS: 2-5-1 - O/U: 5-3) Win probability: 52.6%

19. Indianapolis Colts (4-4): The Colts lost to the Texans, 23-20 and they decided to make a change at quarterback. Starting QB Anthony Richardson has completed an NFL low 44% of his passes and has not completed more than ten passes in 4-of-5 contests that he's played the entire game. He will be replaced by veteran Joe Flacco. Next: +5 at Minnesota Vikings – Sun, Nov. 3, 5:20 PM PT – O/U: 46.5 (ATS: 7-1 – O/U: 3-5) Win probability: 30.4%

20. Los Angeles Rams (3-4): The Rams won their second in a row, knocking off the Vikings at SoFi Stadium. The return of 2023 All-Pro wide receiver Puka Nacua and the return of 2021 All-Pro wide receiver Cooper Kupp makes this offense explosive and fun to watch, along with 2023 All-Pro running back Kyren Williams. This is a good offensive team when everyone is healthy. Next: -2 at Seattle Seahawks – Sun, Nov. 3, 1:25 PM PT – O/U: 48 (ATS: 2-5 – O/U: 4-3) Win probability: 47.4%

21. Cincinnati Bengals (3-5): The Bengals are now 0-4 at home after getting soundly beat, 37-17. A team that is 0-4 at home has issues, but at least they know they have a very good quarterback in Joe Burrow, with 15 touchdown passes and just three interceptions. Next: -7 vs Las Vegas Raiders – Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U 46.5 (ATS: 4-4 – O/U: 5-3) Win probability: 79.0%

22. Dallas Cowboys (3-4): When it comes to the line-of-scrimmage, the Cowboys are the worst team in the NFL. After another loss, this time to the struggling 49ers, the Cowboys rank last in rushing offense at 74.1 yards per game, last in rushing yardage per carry at 3.4 yards per carry, and 31st in rushing yardage allowed per game at 154.5 yards per game, just ahead of the Panthers at 154.6 yards per game. Next: +2.5 at Atlanta Falcons - Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U: 52 (ATS: 2-5 – O/U: 5-2) Win probability: 37.0%

23. Miami Dolphins (2-5): Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa returned form the injured reserve, but he could not overcome the Cardinals in a loss at home. The good news is that the offense with Tagovailoa at the helm looked like an NFL offense again. Next: +6 at Buffalo Bills - Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U: 49.5 (ATS: 1-6 – O/U: 2-5) Win probability: 23.0%

24. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-5): The Jaguars found an opponent they could beat in London, knocking off the Pats, 32-16. Running back Tank Bigsby, a third-round draft pick from Auburn in 2023, rushed for 118 yards on 26 carries and two touchdowns, while Brian Thomas, a first-round pick in 2024 from LSU, had 5 catches for 89 yards and a TD. The Jags do have some good young talent, along with their franchise QB. Next: +7.5 at Philadelphia Eagles - Sun, Nov. 3, 1:05 PM PT – O/U: 45.5 (ATS: 4-4 – O/U: 5-3) Win probability: 27.9%

25. New Orleans Saints (2-6): The Saints lost their sixth consecutive game, losing to the Chargers 26-8. The Saints opened the season with a 47-10 win over the Panthers, and they get an opportunity to do it again this week when they take on the Panthers in the Crummy Game of the Week. Next: -7.5 at Carolina Panthers – Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U: 43 (ATS: 3-5 – O/U: 5-3) Win probability: 69.8%

26. Las Vegas Raiders (2-6): The Raiders lost their fourth consecutive game, losing to the Chiefs, 27-20. The Raiders inept running attack showed up, as usual, gaining 33 yards on the ground in 21 attempts. Thanks to the Cowboys, the Raiders running attack is only the second worst in the NFL. Quarterback Gardner Minshew has no hope for success without a running attack. Next: +7 at Cincinnati Bengals - Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U: 46.5 (ATS: 4-4 – O/U: 5-3) Win probability: 21.0%

27. New York Giants (2-6): The Giants lost on Monday Night to the Steelers, 26-18. Rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. rushed for 145 yards and one touchdown, but this offense needs a starting NFL quarterback and possibly a new head coach to have success. Next: +3.5 vs Washington Commanders – Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U: 36 (ATS: 3-5 – O/U: 2-6) Win probability: 40.4%

28. Cleveland Browns (2-6): The Browns stunned the Ravens on Sunday, 29-24. With the loss of quarterback Deshaun Watson to an injury for the season, backup quarterback Jameis Winston took over and threw for 334 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Browns are stuck with Watson for the future, or at least his guaranteed contract. Watson will make $46 million in 2025 in base salary and his salary cap hit in 2025 is $72.9 million. Next: +1.5 vs Los Angeles Chargers – Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U: 43 (ATS: 3-5 – O/U: 3-5) Win probability: 41.3%

29. New England Patriots (2-6): Head coach Jerod Mayo called his team "soft" and that seemed to help, along with the hapless Jets, as the Patriots beat the Jets 25-22, breaking a six-game losing streak. Next: +3.5 at Tennessee Titans – Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U: 38 (ATS: 2-5-1 – O/U: 5-3) Win probability: 27.7%

30. New York Jets (2-6): The Jets lost to the Pats on Sunday, with Interim Jets head coach Jeff Ulbrich calling the loss "a moment of darkness." Not actually. It was business as usual for the Pats against the Jets. The Jets are 9-37 vs the Pats in the last 46 games. Next: -1.5 vs Houston Texans - Thu, Oct. 31, 5:15 PM PT – O/U: 42 (ATS: 2-6 – O/U: 4-3-1) Win probability: 48.8%

31. Tennessee Titans (1-6): The Titans lost to Detroit 52-14 on Sunday but still have the No. 1 ranked defense in the NFL. The Titans lost the turnover battle, 4-0 and that was the deciding factor in the game. The Titans outgained the Lions in yardage, 416 to 225, but somehow managed to lose by 38 points. Next: -3.5 vs New England Patriots – Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U: 38 (ATS: 1-6 – O/U: 4-2-1) Win probability: 72.3%

32. Carolina Panthers (1-7): The Panthers lost again, this time to the Broncos, 28-14. Quarterback Bryce Young returned from the bench and threw for 224 yards and two touchdowns, but also tossed a couple of interceptions. Overall, he played okay and may have improved his trade status before the trade deadline on November 5th. Next: +7.5 vs New Orleans Saints – Sun, Nov. 3, 10:00 AM PT – O/U: 43 (ATS: 1-7 – O/U: 6-2) Win probability: 30.2%
