Celebrating 60 Years of Excellence in Education!
Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles (pronounced "lee-say") was founded by my parents Raymond and Esther Kabbaz, in 1964; both were teachers at the Lycée in New York for several years. At the time the state of California prohibited schools from teaching in any language other than English. My parents petitioned in Sacramento to change the code of Education.
Their historic effort paved the way for the opening of Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles and for other multilingual schools, such Armenian, Korean, etc. that now flourish in California. It has been a joy to grow up in this school, and it has also been an honor to follow in my parents' footsteps. We are blessed watching our students grow from preschoolers into knowledgeable, talented, and dedicated high school graduates who are motivated to go further and attend college with the determination to go out into the world and achieve greatness. Our international school remains one the most well-respected college-prep schools in Los Angeles known all over the world.""
- Clara-Lisa Kabbaz Esq. President Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles
Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles is an independent, co-ed private school welcoming students in preschool to 12th grade. French and American curriculums are taught to students from over 70 countries. Included within the curriculum is a robust arts and sports program.
A student is NOT REQUIRED TO KNOW FRENCH to attend. We have a rigorous English-language track that accommodates students who swish to study in English. We are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) as well as the French Ministry of Education. Our students go on to earn a U.S. high school diploma, (also the French Baccalaureate, if in the French school program). In addition, the school offers the AP Capstone Diploma and 27 AP courses. Our graduates attend the best universities in the United States and abroad.
Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles offers a truly unique educational experience that prepares graduates to be well-rounded citizens of the world.
