New head coach Eric Scott picked up his first career West Los Angeles College victory thanks to the Wildcats' 34-20 triumph over visiting Los Angeles Pierce College on Saturday afternoon.
West LA was able to hold off a late LA Pierce surge while scoring a pair of late touchdowns in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Running back Bryant Collins had a huge game for the Wildcats, as he totaled 4 touchdowns in the contest. He broke free for three rushing TDs and 149 yards on 23 carries. He also hauled in a 25-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Jackson Dadich, his lone catch of the game.
With the score tied at 20-20 with 3:29 to play in the fourth, Collins ran for a 23-yard TD and closed out the game's scoring with a 31-yard touchdown run with 51 seconds left.
The West LA defense also came up big. Jason Robinson scooped up a LA Pierce fumble and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown to give the Wildcats an early lead in the first quarter.
The Wildcats also recorded four interceptions, getting picks from Brayshion Alexander, Tra Monte Lowe, Conan Hinckley, and a team INT.
