Pedestrian Killed in Marina del Rey

A pedestrian was struck and killed early Sunday morning by a hit-and-run vehicle in Marina del Rey, according to a report by My News LA.

On Friday August 16, 2024, around 7:00 p.m., a hit-and-run collision occurred intersection of Lincoln and Washington boulevards Iin Marins Del Rey. The incident involved a female pedestrian who was crossing within a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a Toyota Corolla travelling westbound on Victory Boulevard. The Toyota Corolla continued westbound without stopping and was later found abandoned along the curb on Victory Boulevard, east of Troost Avenue.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 50s who fled the scene on foot without identifying himself or rendering aid, as required by law.

Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The pedestrian is described as a Hispanic female in her late 20s. Her name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office.
