Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents most of Culver City in Congress, endorsed Andrew Lachman for Culver City for Culver City Unified Board of Education.
"Andrew has long been a champion for Culver City as a parent, activist, and community leader. He's been an effective bridge-builder who brings people together around what is right. I am proud to support Andrew Lachman for Culver City School Board," said Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove.
"Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove has represented Culver City on the LA Community College Board, the Assembly, Senate and in the Congress. We have been lucky to have her working on our behalf and I am honored to have her support." said Andrew Lachman.
Congressman Ted Lieu, who represents Culver City west of the 405, endorsed Lachman's campaign last month. With Sydney Kamlager-Dove and Ted Lieu's endorsement, Lachman is the only school board candidate to be endorsed by both members of Congress representing Culver City. The leading fundraiser in the race, Lachman was recently endorsed by the Culver City Federation of Teachers and former CCUSD Board Presidents Marla Wolkowitz, Bob Knopf, Scott Zeidman and Stuart Bubar.
A parent of a sixth grader at Culver City Middle School (who also attended El Marino Elementary and El Rincon Elementary as well). Lachman served on the Culver City Education Foundation Board, the CCUSD Equity Advisory Committee, Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Committee and Bond Feasibility Committee where he advocated for greater communication and input from teachers and parents. Lachman has been a business, privacy and ethics attorney in his own firm and in-house for over fifteen years and taught business law as an adjunct professor at Woodbury University. He was Legislative Director for Congressman Ted Lieu and Staff Consultant to the California Legislative Joint Committee on the Arts.
