John Riordan Dies at 96

Longtime business owner and Culver City philanthropist has passed away. He was named citizen of the year in 2017.

John was a generous contributor to numerous community organizations such as: Culver City Little League, El Marino Elementary Language School, Culver City High School Vanguard Program, Culver City Education Foundation, Culver City Firefighters, Los Angeles Police Explorer Scout Program, Culver-Palms YMCA, The Senior Coalition, Muscular Dystrophy Association, The Jeffrey Foundation, Culver Palms Church of Christ, Disabled American Veterans, Culver City Summer Concert Series, and the Culver City Centennial Celebration Committee.

He was the owner of John Riordan Plumbing for over fifty years. John was active in many local organizations. He was a member of the Culver City Chamber of Commerce, The Masonic Lodge, The Scottish Rite, the Shriners, DeMolay International, Kiwanis Club, the Culver City Chamber of Commerce, LeTip International, Toastmasters International, and Los Angeles County Veteran Employment Committee; and Los Angeles County Regional Occupational Program.

John was one of the kindest people you would ever meet. You could spot him at many community events with his infectious smile and engaging personality.
