FORMER UCLA STANDOUT JRUE HOLIDAY NAMED TO 2024 USA OLYMPIC TEAM

Holiday helped Team USA win the gold medal at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

Former UCLA standout guard Jrue Holiday has been named to the 2024 USA Basketball Men's National Team, which will compete at the Olympic Games in Paris this summer, set for July 26-Aug. 11.

Holiday helped the USA Basketball Men's National Team win the gold medal at the 2020 Olympics, which was played in the summer of 2021 (delayed by one year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic). A former standout at Campbell Hall School (Studio City, Calif.), Holiday averaged 8.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in 35 games (35 starts) as a freshman at UCLA in 2008-09.

This marks Holiday's second selection to compete for the United States at the Olympic Games. Holiday can become the first former UCLA men's basketball player to have competed in two Olympic Games. More recently, Reggie Miller won a gold medal for Team USA in 1996 (Atlanta), before Kevin Love and Russell Westbrook helped the United States' team to a gold medal in 2012 (London). Holiday and Zach LaVine were part of the Team USA gold medal-winning squad at the 2020 Olympics in Japan.

In Team USA's gold medal-winning victory over France (87-82) on Aug. 6, 2021, Holiday finished with 11 points, five rebounds and a team-leading three steals.

Holiday was selected in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers (No. 19 overall) after his freshman season at UCLA. Now in his 15th year in the NBA, Holiday has averaged 16.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game in 975 career contests (894 starts).

Currently in his first season with the Boston Celtics, Holiday averaged 12.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game this season. Holiday has been a central figure on the Celtics' roster this season, helping Boston secure the postseason No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

In addition to Holiday, the 2024 USA Men's National Team will feature Bam Adebayo (Miami Heat), Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Anthony Davis (Los Angeles Lakers), Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers), Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers), Jrue Holiday (Boston Celtics), Kawhi Leonard (L.A. Clippers) and Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics).

The 2024 USA Men's National Team will be led by head coach Steve Kerr of the Golden State Warriors. Kerr will be assisted by Mark Few (Gonzaga University), Tyronn Lue (L.A. Clippers) and Erik Spoelstra (Miami Heat).
