One Dead in Del Rey House Fire

The Los Angeles Fire Department, with assistance from Culver City Fire Department battled flames in a fully-engulfed one-story single family home in DelRey that appeared to be vacant. It took 37 LAFD firefighters 41 minutes to extinguish the flames, holding the fire to the unit-of-origin. 4922 S. Sycamore Dr., near where Sepulveda Boulevard crosses Ballona Creek, After eliminating the blaze, two patients were found inside. One was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition, and sadly, another was deceased.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
