Help Put the Brakes on Bicycle Theft

Culver City residents of all ages are invited to join a free Bicycle Rodeo and Registration Event. Get ready to pedal your way to a fun-filled day of bike safety and theft prevention education. This event will take place on Saturday, January 6, from 9:00 am-12:30 pm at the Culver City Police Department located at 4040 Duquesne Avenue.

Bike theft is a five-million-dollar annual epidemic in the United States. Every thirty seconds a bicycle is stolen. Police recover thousands of bikes every year but struggle to locate their owners. Registering your bicycle is critical to ensure you have the information law enforcement needs to help recover a lost or stolen bike. Registering your bike takes just a few minutes and is easy to do. Participants are encouraged to sign up for an appointment for free bicycle registration in advance here: bit.ly/3GTiX2s. Pre-registration for the event is highly encouraged to ensure that we have proper staffing and is not required for attendance. Bring your bicycles and join us for a day of safety, giveaways, and fun.

For questions or additional information, please contact Culver City Police Department Public Information Officer Jennifer Atenza at (310) 658-2891 or email jennifer.atenza@culvercity.org.
