Monday around 1 am, CCPD officers responded to the 4000 block of La Salle Avenue for a call of suspicious subjects possibly committing a theft. Officers arrived and quickly located a suspect matching the description provided by a caller, manipulating the gate to a residence. Officers detained the suspect and their investigation revealed that the suspect had committed a hot prowl burglary, entering a residence, where the occupant was fast asleep. The suspect admitted to checking other neighboring residences for unlocked or open doors that evening. The suspect, an active parolee, was arrested for burglary.
Thanks to neighbors looking out for their fellow neighbors and the quick response from our officers, this suspect was arrested without incident.
