Culver City to Welcome an Official Delegation from Iksan City, South Korea, to Celebrate a Milestone on their Sister City Relationship

Presentation to take place at City Hall on June 26, 2023 at 6:30 PM and informal gathering following the Presentation at the Patacchia Room, both open to the public

Culver City Sister City Committee (CCSCC) along with Culver City (Culver) will welcome a delegation of seven from Iksan City (Iksan), South Korea, headed by The Honorable Jung Heon-yul to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Culver – Iksan sister city relationship.

The visit will be from Monday, June 26th through Friday, June 30th and will include a presentation at the Culver City Hall, 9770 Culver Blvd. The Iksan delegation will also visit places showcasing our city including the Wende Museum, Historical Society, Sony Studios along with visits to the city's Fire and Police Departments.

Iksan is situated in the East Central part of South Korea with a history dating to 500 AD. Today it is a modern industrial city and home to numerous factories producing textiles, gems, jewelry, metal, electrical products and machinery. It is also home to many agricultural, fishing, construction and transportation industries.

Culver – Iksan Student Exchange

The Culver-Iksan sister city exchange agreement was first signed on September 12, 1983. Student exchange programs and homestays have been in place since the year 2000 but were paused in 2020 through 2022 due to the global pandemic. In August of this year, we will be resuming activities by receiving a group of Iksan students.
