Culver City high school has a lot of outstanding student athletes but the two that rose to the top of the list for the 2022-2023 season were, for the boys Myles Singleton and for the girls, Joelle Trepagnier. Myles, a sophomore was outstanding on the football field and basketball court and Trepagnier, also a sophomore proved to be one the fastest runners in the United States.
Singleton was a first team All-Bay league wide receiver who caught 50 passes for 937 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was also a very good defensive back who made 52 tackles and intercepted three passes. One of his interceptions he returned 105 yards which is a school record. He was also a starting guard on the basketball team that won six out of eight CIF playoff games and made it to the State semi-finals.
Trepagnier set school records almost every time she stepped on the track. It all started last April at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational when she helped her team win the 4X400 relay against some of the top schools in the nation. The smooth-running track star led the Centaurs to the CIF Division 2 championship in May and she capped off a brilliant season by winning the 200 meters at the California high school State Meet last weekend in Clovis. She also placed second in the 400 meters at the State Meet and ran the anchor leg on the winning 4X400 meter relay at the State Meet.
The great news is both of these gifted student athletes have two more years at Culver City high school.
