Marina Dey Rey Road Rage leave One Dead

A man in his 20s was found dead following an apparent road-rage shooting that happened at a busy intersection in Marina Del Rey on Monday afternoon.

It happened around 12:15 p.m., near the intersection of the 90 Freeway and Lincoln Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

KTLA reported the video from Sky5 showed a dark-colored Volkswagen sedan parked in the roadway with a white investigation tent partially covering the vehicle. Those tents are used at the site of homicides.

“The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and after attempting life-saving measures, the man was determined dead at the scene,” LAPD Detective Sean Kinchla said. “The suspect vehicle is described as a dark Kia and was last seen leaving the scene northbound Lincoln.”

Detectives believe both vehicles were traveling northbound on Lincoln Boulevard when they stopped in traffic just south of the 90 Freeway. They think that both drivers got out of their vehicles and then the suspect opened fire. Police are talking with witnesses and looking for surveillance footage to determine exactly what happened.

“It’s a very busy area and our investigators have talked to numerous people that were in the area,” Kinchla said. “There’s lots of video cameras in the area and, hopefully, some of the video captured the incident.”

Lincoln Boulevard was closed for more than six hours for the investigation.
