SANTA MONICA, Calif
Santa Monica Public Library announces the return of in-person computer classes. A four-part series on Computer Basics will be offered on Tuesdays, March 7, 14, 21 & 28, 2023, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Blvd. in the Computer Training Room.
The Computer Basics series offers hands-on training to build skills needed to use a computer at home, work, or the Library. The classes support the Library's digital literacy mission and are free and open to the public. Participation is on a first-arrival basis. Topics for each week are:
• March 7 - Introduction to Chromebooks: Chromebooks are an inexpensive, simple laptop for accessing the internet. A limited number of Chromebooks will be made available to check out for home use.
• March 14 - Computers 101: A hands-on tour of the Library's PC's. Learn how to navigate a computer and get online.
• March 21 - The Home Computer: Learn how to save and organize files, sign up for an email account, and add and view photos.
• March 28 - The Work Computer: Learn basic work skills. What is a cloud server? How to use messaging apps, online calendars, and more.
