Student achievement in English language arts went up slightly while math scores nudged down in the Culver City Unified School District.
That’s according to the latest results from the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) tests.
The CCUSD Educational Services Department recently presented the CAASPP report card which also showed that local students’ scores in California Science Testing went down slightly from pre-COVID scores.
The district’s data also revealed that graduation rates rose, from 91.8% in 2014 to 96.8% in 2022, and A-G coursework completion nearly doubled, from 41.5% in 2014 to 71.3% in 2022.
Over the last five years, according to CCUSD, the number of AP students increased from 583 to 619. Scores of 3+ improved from 75.1% in 2014 to 84% for the 1,275 AP exams taken in May 2022.
School officials said that by building the CTE programs and dual enrollment opportunities, various pathways will be available for students to demonstrate their college/career readiness.
The District also said it will continue to invest in educator capacity through continuing education opportunities and improve access and equity for all students by expanding pathways for career readiness
