CC Police Nab Suspect Hawking 'Hot' Airpods

Culver City police have arrested a man wearing an Amazon delivery vest after he allegedly tried to sell stolen Apple Airpods outside the local mall.

The incident occurred on August 10 in the parking lot of Westfield Culver City, according to Culver City Police Department.

The suspect was speaking with a woman and her children in the parking lot when he noticed a police officer and quickly run to his car, CCPD said in a Facebook post.

“The officer learned from the woman that the subject was attempting to sell stolen merchandise,” CCPD said. “The officer made a traffic stop on the subject who claimed he was an Amazon employee, which was false information.”

During the investigation, the officer found 15 boxes of Apple Airpods and over $3800 in cash inside the suspect’s car, police said. The officer also “learned that the Airpods were taken in a burglary in the city of Industry.”

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested on burglary charges and transported to the local jail for booking.
