A registered sex offender has been arrested in connection with multiple "peeping" incidents in Culver City after a doorbell camera captured him leering into a woman's home, police said this week.
On June 7 around 8:30 p.m., Culver City Police Department received a report of a man looking into the window of a home.
The female victim told officers that "after viewing the footage from her doorbell camera, she discovered the suspect had been lurking outside her window the previous evening as well," said CCPD in a statement.
After an investigation, Culver City police identified the suspect as Shondel Larkin, a registered sex offender who is on parole for sex crimes. Police said Larkin, a Culver City resident, is required to wear a GPS ankle monitor per the condition of his parole.
On June 8, police detectives began surveilling Larkin and observed him leering at a woman inside a Culver City home, CCPD said. He was immediately arrested.
Larkin was booked for multiple counts of peeking while prowling. He is currently being held on a parole hold at the Culver City Jail. This case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for filing consideration.
The Police Department is urging anyone who may have witnessed or was a victim of similar crimes to contact Sergeant Eddie Baskaron at 310-253-6316 or the Watch Commander at 310-253-6202.
