Hollenbeck Palms Celebrates Grand Opening Of Hensel Memory Enhancement Center

Hollenbeck Palms proudly announces the upcoming unveiling and grand opening of the newest addition to its campus, the Hensel Memory Enhancement Center. To mark the occasion, a ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April 20 at 11am on the grounds at 573 Boyle Avenue, Los Angeles. Immediately following the ribbon cutting ceremony, personalized tours of the new structure will be offered and a private reception.

With this new $7 million facility, Hollenbeck will provide essential dementia-specific care to 33 residents living with Alzheimer’s disease or various forms of dementia. Addressing the increase in the number of dementia diagnoses, this new center will allow Hollenbeck to best meet all its residents’ needs. Of the 5.7 million people in the United States living with Alzheimer’s or various forms of dementia, over 650,000 live in California.

The Hensel Memory Enhancement Center features a specifically designed layout to minimize confusion and special colors and shapes to promote mental stimulation care. It also includes an enclosed garden, allowing residents to enjoy the fresh air and independence of being outdoors. Each resident is assessed and has a personalized plan created to meet their individual preferences and advancement of their condition. Most importantly, this center provides compassionate and kind care in a safe and loving environment, much like their home. Staff are assigned to residents on a continuous and consistent basis, allowing them to get to know each resident personally, and therefore understand, foresee and handle their individual needs.

Private and semi-private rooms are located on two floors, and 24x7 care is provided to all residents. Programs are offered 7 days a week and provide physical, occupational spiritual, social, intellectual, emotional and environmental dimensions to assure the optimum benefits to residents. The Hensel Memory Enhancement Center is particularly proud to incorporate innovative and up-to-date technology in its programs to best serve its residents.

A non-profit 501( c)(3) continuing care retirement community, Hollenbeck Palms was founded in 1890 by Elizabeth Hollenbeck and is the very first licensed community in California. Nestled on 8.5 lovely acres in Boyle Heights, Hollenbeck provides independent, assisted living and skilled nursing services, offering residents an active and fulfilling lifestyle. With the Hensel Memory Enhancement Center, Hollenbeck is providing the “fourth level” of care to its deserving residents. For more information, please visit http://www.hollenbeckpalms.com.
