Man Stabbed to Death During Suspected Family Dispute in Playa del Rey

A man was allegedly stabbed to death by his son on Tuesday night after an argument escalated into violence in Playa del Rey, according to authorities.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were called at 6 p.m. on January 11 to a home in the 200 block of Redlands Street after a report that two people had been stabbed, including a 70-year-old man, said LAPD in a statement

The father, who was stabbed multiple times, died at the scene, LAPD said.

An unidentified woman was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition with stab wounds, police officials said.

A search was initiated for the suspect and police identified a man who they say matched witnesses' description and drove away from the scene.

The suspect crashed a car onto a sidewalk at the intersection of Sepulveda Boulevard and Manchester Avenue in Westchester after a police pursuit and tried to run away from officers, but they found him hiding in an alley near an IHOP restaurant and arrested him.
