Culver City police have arrested two juveniles suspected of robbing two women at gunpoint in the Hayden Tract two weeks ago.
The two incidents occurred on in the early hours of December 13, according to the Culver City Police Department. “Both victims were robbed at gunpoint whereby the suspects pointed a rifle at them and ordered them to hand over their belongings,” police said.
No injuries were reported during the robberies.
With the assistance of other law enforcement agencies, local police detectives were able to track and nab the two 16-year-old suspects involved in the robberies, CCPD said in a press release.
Culver City police said the two suspects were also involved in a burglary in San Bernardino County, a carjacking in Manhattan Beach and an attempt carjacking in Inglewood.
“Both suspects have been arrested and the case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration,” police said.
The first robbery on December 13 occurred in the area of Hayden Avenue and Higuera Street about 6:30 a.m. The victim told police she was walking on Hayden when he was approached by the suspects, who were inside an SUV.
The driver of the SUV demanded money from the victim while the second suspect, who was seated in the backseat, pointed a rifle at her, police said. The victim handed over her fanny pack, which contained her phone and wallet
The second robbery occurred soon after the first one in the area of Eastham Drive and Stellar Drive. The victim gave the suspects her phone.
