DanceArt to Perform at Senior Center

Benita Bike’s DanceArt brings a new company of beautiful dancers to Culver City for a program of dance and arts exploration on Sunday, November 14, 1:30 p.m., Culver City Senior Center, 4095 Overland Avenue, Culver City, 90232. Two concert dances will be performed with ample opportunities for audience members to ask questions and share thoughts. This FREE arts performance is made possible in part by the City of Culver City and its Cultural Affairs Commission, with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment and the Culver City Arts Foundation.

Benita Bike’s DanceArt has a long history of presenting dance outreach programs at community centers, art centers, libraries, and schools. These performances awaken people to the spiritual, emotional, and intellectual value of dance by presenting modern dance works in a non-intimidating fashion. The Company is dedicated to presenting polished concert quality dance not only in theater settings, but also in non-conventional spaces in order to share dance with people in their own communities.

Featured on this program are two dance works: “Benches” and “On Beat 3.” “Benches” takes you into a park to people-watch and imagine the lives of the those who are alone, in pairs, and in groups. “On Beat 3” is a trio that uses driving percussive rhythms and colorful off-balance movements to explore a world of ordered chaos.
