Rams linebacker Kenny Young is making the best of his opportunities. The former UCLA star is now one of the best defensive players on the Rams. Playing for new Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris appears to have given him renewed confidence to be able to reach his full potential.
Young was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2018 and was traded to the Rams during the 2019 season. He became a fulltime starter this season and he continues to improve every week. Young is happy to be back in Los Angeles after playing for the Ravens.
"It's by the grace of God that my undergraduate was here," said Young after the Rams victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday. "I was able to come back to Los Angeles and put on a show for the Rams. It just feels very, very good. I love L.A. I love the people, the diversity and for sports I think it's time that we try to get another championship for the city. Other sports are doing it."
Young finds peace when He returns to the UCLA campus. "When I have free time, I drive to UCLA and walk the campus just to feel what it was like. I am just glad I had the opportunity to study and play ball at UCLA and get back here and play for the Rams."
Young is very appreciative of every positive step he has taken in his life. "Anything that helps me get to where I am now. I always try to go back to Louisiana. I never forget where I come from whether it's UCLA or Louisiana. That's what keeps me grounded and keeps me going forward."
The 3-0 Rams play the 3-0 Arizona Cardinals Sunday at 1:05 p.m. at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
