LOS ANGELES (Aug. 3, 2021) – The Los Angeles Sparks announced today the signing of Karlie Samuelson to a 7-day contract. Since joining the Sparks on June 4 under a hardship contract, Samuelson has been a consistent contributor on both ends of the floor.
On June 24, she helped the Sparks defeat the Washington Mystics with a career-high 13 points off the bench. Across her 10 appearances and three starts for the Sparks in 2021, Samuelson has put up single-game career-highs in points (13), rebounds (6), steals (3), field goals made (5), field goals attempted (8), 3-point field goals made (3), and minutes (31). She’s averaging 4.2 points, and 2.4 rebounds in 16.8 minutes per game while shooting 50% on 3-pointers.
“Karlie Samuelson continues to make the most of her opportunities here in LA,” General Manager/Head Coach Derek Fisher said. “She’s provided us with positive energy, outside shooting, and toughness on defense.”
Since 2018, Samuelson has played in 37 WNBA games. The Huntington Beach-native is a member of the Great Britain women’s national team and is the sister of Seattle Storm forward Katie Lou Samuelson.
The Sparks return to action on Sunday, Aug. 15 at STAPLES CENTER against the Indiana Fever at 6 p.m. PT. LA Sparks single game tickets are available here for purchase.
