Culver City have arrested a suspect with a clown mask on suspicion of stealing packages from front porches.
Around 6:30 p.m. on March 29, Culver City Police Department received a call about someone stealing packages off front porches near the area of Northgate Street and Overland Avenue.
Responding officers found and detained the suspect. He had stolen packages, a clown mask, a replica handgun hidden in his waistband, drug paraphernalia and miscellaneous jewelry, police said. His name has not been released.
CCPD has offered the following tips to help prevent package thefts: add motion-activated lights around front porch areas, install a front door security camera and doorbell and continue networking with neighbors.
Police officials are also urging community members to call 911 to report these types of thefts.
