Local Hospitals Experience Upsurge in Patients

Culver City reported 21 new

cases for a total of 1,403 cases

and 1 new death for a total

of 43 deaths.

In Los Angeles County there

have been more than 1,000

COVID-related deaths in the

past week, crossing past over

the 11,000 cumulative death

threshold on Tuesday.

There are 7,898 people hospitalized

with COVID-19 in Los

Angeles County on Tuesday,

a record-breaking number.

That's 201 more people than

were hospitalized on Monday

when there were 7,697people

hospitalized, a number that

was record-breaking at the

time.

Of those hospitalized, 21%

are in the ICU. That translates

to about 1,590 people in the

ICU.

Local hospitals experienced

over 90 percent Intensive

Care Unit capacity in late December.
