Like former Clipper announcer Ralph Lawler use to say, "Fasten your seat belts" because the Lakers and Clippers are headed for a an exciting last two months of the season. Both teams have less than 30 games to play and both teams are looking to avoid injuries heading into the playoffs.
The Lakers are in first place in the Western Conference with the second best record in the NBA at 41-12 and Clippers are 37-18, five games behind the Lakers. The team with the best record in the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks (46-8) are in the Eastern Conference.
The Lakers and Clippers teams have veteran players who know how to win championships but only one team can come out of the West to battle for an NBA title so that's what makes this regular season so electrifying. Teams will be playing for playoff seeding. Add the playoffs to the mix and what you have is a Hollywood movie with plenty of stars.
The Lakers first game after the All-Star break will be Friday at 7:30 p.m. against Memphis. They face Boston on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. and New Orleans on Tuesday at 7 p.m. All three games are at the Staples Center.
The Clippers next home games are Saturday at 12:30 p.m. against Sacramento and Monday at 7:30 p.m. against Memphis. Right now the Clippers are in third place in the Western Conference right behind second place Denver and right in front of fourth place Utah.
