Vielmetter Gallery has announced the relocation of their Culver City location to downtown Los Angeles from its current location in Culver City’s Art District.
“With the opening of two additional exhibition spaces in our downtown location, Vielmetter Los Angeles is expanding the gallery in downtown Los Angeles to 24,000 square feet of exhibition space. We are closing the Culver City space as of July 6 and will be open by appointment until July 30,” announced the gallery’s owner Susanne Vielmetter on their website.
The current 8,000 square foot gallery is a major tenant on the eastside of Culver City since 2010 where art galleries have flourished in recent years.
Last year Vielmetter opened a second 11,000 square foot galley which they will expand.
This formerly abandoned and dilapidated industrial area was transformed into an artist community in the mid-70's. Today, the Arts District thrives with galleries, photography studios, graphic artists, advertising firms, video and media companies, and the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-ARC).
