Symphony Orchestra Concludes Season

The Culver City Symphony Orchestra concludes its 2018-19 Season with a chamber music concert Sunday, May 26 at 3:00PM. This chamber music concert will be presenting two masterworks in music, the Clarinet Quintets of Mozart and Brahms. The New Hollywood String Quartet will be joined by Clarinetist Joshua Ranz.

Towards the end of their respective lives Mozart and Brahms met clarinetists whose playing so caught their attention that each composed Quintets for Clarinet and String Quartet. For Mozart it was Anton Stadler, and for Brahms it was Richard Mühlfeld.

The concert will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 6323 W 80th Street Los Angeles.

There is limited church parking. Additional parking is available along 80th Street and Alverstone Avenue across from YMCA

FREE-Students Grades K -12 who must be accompanied by a paying adult, General Admission

All attendees must have tickets from the box office. Members of SoCal Symphony Society will receive two free tickets.

Tickets and Society Membership can be purchased on the orchestra website http://www.culvercitysymphony.org and at Covenant Presbyterian Church 45 minutes before the concert.

Donations and membership to the SoCal Symphony Society, Inc. are welcome. SoCal Symphony Society, Inc., presents The Culver City Symphony Orchestra, The Marina del Rey Symphony, and produces the Parness Concerto Competition.

The Culver City Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1963, and has been in Culver City since 2000. It has performed in many regional venues in the communities of Westchester, Venice, Los Angeles, San Gabriel, and Culver City. In addition to presenting the standard orchestra repertoire and concert dramatizations of operas, the orchestra has presented unique concerts devoted to Black American, Hispanic, and Women composers. It is the parent orchestra of the Marina del Rey Summer Symphony which performs at Burton Chace Park. The orchestra has performed at The Los Angeles Street Festival, on live-radio music broadcasts from the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History.

Frank Fetta, Conductor and Music Director, is well known for his conducting of orchestral music, ballet, and opera in Southern California as well as throughout the country including engagements with the San Diego Symphony, the Redlands Bowl Music Festival- music director, The San Bernardino Symphony-music director, the Fresno Philharmonic, the Torrance Symphony, the Nevada Opera Theater, and the Marina del Rey Symphony.
