Sweep Ocean League Players of the Year
At their year-end banquet last week, it was announced that the Culver high school Varsity Lacrosse players had received their due accolades from their opposing coaching staffs.
Thomas Wilcox was named Ocean League Offensive Player of the Year. A very accurate shooter, Wilcox scored 59 goals with 13 assists and won 35 ground balls.
Midfielder, Anthony Novo received Most Outstanding Player and Ray Sugiyama earned Defensive Player of the Year. Novo scored 22 goals, had 11 assists and won 30 ground balls. Sugiyama forced 21 turnovers and won 59 ground balls.
Named to the All-Ocean League 1st Team were Keishi Tateda, Josh Walton-Schwartz and Gabe Marotti. (Photos below)
Making the Second Team were Elijah Adams, Joey Chabola, Caleb Martin and goalie, Darius Safavi-Abbassi.
Receiving Honorable Mention were Ronin Honda, Eduardo De Marcos and Walker Penchansky.
After taking on a very tough pre-season schedule of some of the best powerhouse programs in the South Bay, the Centaurs went undefeated in league play.
