Vera Continues Long Legacy of Supporting Local Charitable Groups
Albert Vera Jr. will be honored at The Friends of the Sandy Segal Youth Health Center's annual fundraiser on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at a private venue in Marina Del Rey. Mr. Vera's dedicated support of many nonprofit organizations and agencies benefitting children and families, including the Sandy Segal Youth Center, make Culver City a safe and welcoming environment in which to live and work. He has carried on the Vera family's tradition of giving back to the community. Albert is currently on the Civil Service Commission, having previously served on the Landlord/Tenant Board. He is a member of the Culver Palms YMCA Board of Managers, the Upward Bound House Board, and the Exchange Club.
The theme of the Gala is Come Sail Away. Activities begin at 5:30 p.m. with appetizers, silent auction, no host bar, and music by Ronnie Jayne. Dinner follows with music, a program, and a live auction. The cost is $125 per person prior to February 26, or $135 at the door. All proceeds go to the Sandy Segal Youth Health Center located on the campus of Culver City Middle and high school. Operated by the Venice Family Clinic, the Health Center provides free quality physical and mental health care for Culver City students. A variety of services are offered including physicals, immunizations, vision and hearing tests, care for ongoing illnesses and conditions, prescription medications, and mental health counseling.
