The NBA season is already full of more tension than a day time soap opera, now the next few months will be filled with drama evolving teams that will trying to make the playoffs. In the Western Conference no less than 13 teams will be battling for eight playoffs spots and in the Eastern Conference it looks like it's going to be a close race between the top four or five teams.
For the Clippers and Lakers the bottom line is they have to win at least 70% of their games if they expect to make the playoffs. Right now the Clippers are in and the Lakers are out. If the playoffs started today the Clippers would be the eight seeded team in the West. The Lakers are currently in 10th place in the West, four games out of the eight spot.
Both teams are in danger of not making the playoffs and that would be a big disappointment, especially for the Lakers who have LeBron James on their team. James is considered to be one of the best if not the best player in the National Basketball League (NBA).
The Lakers enter Thursday's 7:30 p.m. game against Houston at the Staples Center with a record of 28-29. They travel to Memphis on Monday at 5 p.m. and they end the month with a game against New Orleans at home on Wednesday, February 27.
The Clippers have a record of 32-17 and they travel to Memphis on Friday for a 5 p.m. game. They finish the month of February with a game Sunday at Denver at 2 p.m., they play a home game Monday against Dallas at 7:30 p.m. and they go back on the road on Wednesday, February 27, against Utah at 7:30 p.m.
