Culver City High athletics is surging once again in post-season competition. The girls tennis team and the boys water polo team have both advanced deep into their respective 2018 CIF Playoff division brackets.
Girls tennis advanced to the CIF Girls Tennis Semifinal round this past Monday, November 6, going on the road to eliminate Magnolia High, 12-6. The Centaur girls took care of Burroughs High, 13-5, in Round 1 at home and defeated Quartz Hill, 11-7, in Round 2.
They host El Toro High on Wednesday, November 7, this week in a Semifinal match. The victor will play the winner between Temescal Canyon and Bishop Montgomery for the Championship this Friday, November 9.
The Centaur boys water polo team traveled to beat Los Amigos High, 12-10, on Saturday, November 3, to advance to the CIF Division 6 Semifinals. The Culver boys beat Torrance High, 19-7, on the road in Round 1 and Palm Springs High at home, 11-8 in Round 2.
They will host Valley View this Wednesday, November 7, with the winner advancing to the Finals against the winner between Tustin and Hillcrest High this Saturday, November 10. The Culver City High girls water polo won the 2018 CIF Division 6 Championship this past Spring 2018.
