Centaurs beat Glendale High 83-69
Culver City High boys basketball advanced to Round 2 of the CIF Southern Section Division 3A Championships beating a stubborn Glendale High team, 83-69, at Del Goodyear Gymnasium on Wednesday night, February 14. The Centaurs will host the Torrance High Tartars this Friday night, February 16, starting at 7:00 p.m.
Culver swingman Tevian Jones scored 29 points with dynamic plays while power forward Cy Johnson dominated the paint with 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Centaurs. Keith Dinwiddie put in 13 points and Jaylen Cross scored 10. Ryan Blackmon contributed nine and Ryan Willoughby added four points.
The Ocean League Champion Centaurs (17-9 overall) take on Torrance (17-11 overall), who tied for first place in the Pioneer League with Leuzinger High. The teams did not play a common opponent this season. Culver is undefeated at home this year with a 6-0 record. Torrance was 7-2 on the road this year and 3-1 in non-league action.
