No. 8 USC battles No. 5 Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl

The USC Trojan football team will travel deep into the heart of Texas to play one of the best college football teams in the nation when they face Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl on Friday, December 29, at 5:30 p.m.

The game will be played inside the AT&T Stadium in Arlington Texas and the game will be televised on ESPN. This is the same field where the Dallas Cowboys play their home games.

This may be the last time we will see USC quarterback Sam Darnold in a Trojan uniform. Darnold is projected to be one of the top picks in the 2018 National Football League draft. If this is his last game as a Trojan he will probably have an extra incentive to prove to the nation and the NFL that he is the best college quarterback.

To even be considered to be one of the best quarterbacks in the nation Darnold has to have an elite supporting cast. Darnold is surrounded by some of the best offensive talent in college football.

They are four deep at tailback. The number one tailback is All-American Ronald Jones II. Vavae Malepeal. Jones, Carr and Ware combine speed and power and Malepeal is a power runner. The fullback is Reuben Peters.

Darnold's receivers started the season slow but have improved during the second half of the season USC's number one receiver is Deontay Burnett. Other receivers are Steven Mitchell Jr., Michael Pittman, Velus Jones Jr., Jalen Greene and Tyler Vaughns. The tight end position is held down by Tyler Petite, Josh Falo and Daniel Imatornhebhe.

No offense is complete without a solid offensive line. USC has Labendahn, guards Andrew Vorhees and Chris Brown and center Nico Falah.

The defense is led by limemen Rasheem Greene, Josh Fastu and Christian Rector. Their linebackers Cameron Smith and Uchena Nwosu have been outstanding this year. Their secondary is led by Iman Marshall, Ajene Harris, Chris Hawkins, Marvel Tel III and Jack Jones.
