Culver City Resident Part of Team Advancing In NCAA Soccer

Abel Lezcano, of Culver City is a member of the Colgate University men's soccer team advancing to the NCAA Division I Sweet 16 after defeating No. 13 Michigan. Lezcano, a graduate of Culver City High, is part of the first Colgate men's soccer team to advance to the Sweet 16 in program history. The team will face No. 4 Louisville on Sunday, Nov. 26 at 5 p.m. In addition to success on the field Colgate student-athletes posted a 98-percent Graduation Success Rate for the sixth consecutive year, according to NCAA figures. Colgate's 98 percent rate stands as the second-highest nationally among Division I schools.

Colgate University is a highly selective residential liberal arts institution that offers 55 majors to a diverse student body of approximately 2,900 undergraduate students. The university supports 25 Division I athletic teams and its 575-acre campus in rural central New York is renowned for its beauty and the important role it plays in the student experience.
