Services Planned For Vince Motyl

Vincent J Motyl passed away on September 13, 2017 following surgery at Cedar Sinai Hospital. He is preceded by the death of his wife of 50 Years, Linda Motyl. He is survived by his children, Debbi Catallini (Jeff), Theresa Todd (Mike Puebla) and Vincent Motyl III (Taniesha), his grandchildren, Brandon and Brianna Catallini, Nicole Chan (Kenny) and Shawn and Kassandra Ody, his great grandchildren, Cynthia and Phillip Chan, his sister, Barbara Korbeck, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Vince was born in Pittsburgh on June 8, 1942, where he lived until graduating high school. Shortly after graduation Vince joined the United States Air Force. After being stationed overseas, he was assigned to a base in MA where he met his wife, Linda. They were married in November, 1964 and relocated to Pittsburgh.

Vince, Linda and their three children, Debbi, Theresa and Vincent, returned to Culver City in 1975. Vince worked in the mortgage business for over 30 years. He also volunteered his services to his community.

Vince served on the Civil Service Commission, Board of Directors for Southern California Hospital, volunteered his services to the Culver City Police Department, helped serve and start the Easter Culver City Neighborhood Alliance, helped Linda start, run and carry on the Westside Kidney Dialysis Support Group, as well as helping numerous political candidates in the area. He was also knows as the "Mayor of Fay Avenue", by his neighbors due to his efforts to always protect his neighborhood.

Funeral services will be held October 28, 2017 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 3850 Jasmine Avenue, Culver City, 90232 at 10 am.
