Las Vegas Shooting Victim Recovering

Culver City Teacher

Kortney Spencer, a speech teacher at Farragut Elementary School in Culver City, was one of a reported 500 victims in the Las Vegas Shooting on October 1.

Her sister Jodi Spencer Goldberg has set up a GoFundMe account to help Kortney with her medical bills and recovery.

Jodi posted the following on her Facebook page: "This Go Fund Me page is for my youngest sister, Kortney Spencer. Kortney was shot in the leg during the Vegas attack on October 1st. She bravely underwent surgery for her shattered tibia, at which time a rod was placed in her lower leg and the lodged bullet was removed. This surgery was successful and the doctors are optimistic that she will make a healthy recovery.

Kortney spent 11 days at Sunrise Hospital where she received excellent care, physical therapy and some counseling, however she continues to experience immense pain and has a long road to recovery ahead. Kortney is incredibly strong, determined and has a heart of gold, but right now she's in need of help. She is unable to get around on her own, she cannot drive, work, etc.

Her recovery will take time both physically and emotionally. Any help you are able to provide is greatly appreciated.

"Thank you all for your continued thoughts, prayers, and well wishes for Kortney and our family."
