UCLA Football Wins One For The Ages

UCLA's 45-44 thrilling comeback win over Texas A&M last Sunday at the Rose Bowl was a game that defied all logical explanations when it comes to making a sports comeback. What made it so hard to believe was that the Bruins were so bad in the first have and so good in the second half.

They were down 38 to 10 at half time and even some of UCLA's most devoted fans were so discouraged that they started to leave the Rose Bowl. UCLA appeared to be sleep walking in the first half and they continued to look like a team that was day dreaming as the second half started.

The fourth quarter was when things turned around so dramatically it looked like a Walt Disney sports movie. The Bruins scored 28 points in the fourth quarter as they completed one of the greatest comebacks in college football history.

Leading the way was UCLA's quarterback Josh Rosen who ended the game completing 35 out of 59 passes for 491 yards and four fourth quarter touchdowns and 292 yards in the fourth quarter. His main target was tight end Caleb Wilson, who caught a school record 15 passes for 203 yards.

"We are trying to build something special here and it all starts with culture," said a shocked UCLA head coach Jim Mora after the game. "Tonight I saw us take a step in the right direction. It all started on January 6. After our disappointing season last year our players went to work but it was fun to watch our team grow up tonight."

Although the comeback win was nice for the soul Mora knows his team has to get better. "We need to run the ball better and stop the run," said Mora. The Bruins rushed for only 63 yards on 25 carries while Teas A&M ran the ball for 382 yards on 63 carries.

On Saturday the Bruins hope to continue their magic when they play the University of Hawaii at 2 p.m. at the Rose Bowl. Hawaii is 2
