Spring Is A Great Time To Be A College Sports Fan

When it comes down to what is your favorite local college sports season, spring should be at the top of the list. March Madness for men and women, baseball, softball, womens gymnastics, mens and womens track and field and mens volleyball all swing into high gear starting in February. For UCLA and USC last weekend was a perfect example of exciting sporting events on both campuses and exhilarating television viewing. Both of the schools mens basketball teams were playing in the national spotlight in the NCAA Tournament, UCLA women hosted two NCAA Tournament games and both baseball teams played home games. USC s men and women track and field team hosted the Trojan Invitational and UCLAs womens softball team played three home games against Utah and UCLA and USC mens volleyball teams were in action at home. This weekend may even be better. The UCLA mens and womens basketball team are both in the Sweet 16 round. UCLA battles Kentucky today (Friday) at 6:40 p.m. on Channel 2 in Memphis and the women face Connecticut on Saturday at 11 a.m. on ESPN in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
