UCLA Womens' Volleyball Climbs To Top Of Pac-12

Last Sunday the UCLA women's volleyball team showed why

it is ranked No. 9 in the nation when they eliminated No. 21 Utah 3-0 at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion.

The Bruins are now 18-4 and 9-3 in the Pac-12 which is good enough to tie Washington for the best record in the conference.

The Bruins' next challenge is this weekend on the road when they battle Arizona today (Friday) at 6 p.m. and Arizona State on Saturday at 6 p.m. They continue their road trip the following week when they face California November 10 at 8 p.m. and Stanford on Saturday on November 12, at 7 p.m.

This season the Bruins are led by several outstanding players like Reily Buechler, Jordan Anderson, Torrey Van Winden and Taylor Formico but Buechler is clearly the leader of the pack.

Every match Buechler, who comes from an athletic family, brings energy, enthusiasm and talent. "I get my competitive drive from both of my parents and my dad played in the NBA," said Buechler after their win over Utah last Sunday. "I am always thriving for excellence no matter what and I always try to stay engaged and do as much as I can to help my team."

Buechler is also happy to be on a team that is fighting for the Pac-12 championship. The Bruins have won six games in a row. "It's pretty awesome to be at the top again. To know you can battle with teams and hopefully we can keep going through the Pac-12. We want to keep on enjoying it and keep on having fun and enjoy these wins."
