The Dodgers’ Dave Roberts has been named National League Manager of the Year in a vote by fellow league managers in The Sporting News.
“I see this as a team award,” said Roberts who expertly guided the Dodgers into a division champion after they fell eight games behind the San Francisco Giants in mid-season.
The Dodgers finished 91-71 as Roberts joined Tommy Lasorda in 1977 as the only rookie manager in Dodgers history to win the award.
