Rams Beat Cowboys in Preseason Opener

Fans Enjoy Team's Return to L.A. Coliseum

It will simply go down in the books as a 28-24 preseason win for the 2016 Los Angeles Rams over the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday, August 13. But it was much more than that for the 89,140 fans who joyfully poured from the exits of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum following the come-from-behind victory.

"I just left the locker room five minutes ago, finishing up with the team, and I had to remind them that it was a preseason game. It was as if we just clenched the playoffs as far as they were concerned, and that's always fun. It was a great evening." said Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher addressing the media after the game.

"To come here and see the fans' support not only from our fans, but the Cowboys' fans it made for great competition... We wanted to get some work, but keep it simple and that was the case with the Cowboys as well. Overall good evening, so onto week two in preseason."

Rams running back Aaron Green caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Sean Mannion with 1:54 remaining on the clock to clinch the win. The Cowboys had a 24-7 lead at half before Rams scored 21 unanswered points in the second half.

The Rams' return to Los Angeles this year after spending 21 seasons in St. Louis drew added attention as the exhibition game was nationally televised on ESPN and attended by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Read the complete story in this week's coming edition of the Culver City Observer.
