Culver City Rotary Club and its Sister Club, Pune Pavrati Rotary Club in India, in collaboration and The Rotary International Foundation, has provided the Culver City Unified School District Board of Education (CCUSD), a Technology Grant for Culver City schools for $54,000.
The check was presented at a recent Culver City Unified School District Board of Education meeting and provides money to two Culver City elementary schools to allow teachers and students to interface digitally, and also allows teachers to give online feedback to students in all subject areas.
Culver City Education Foundation Executive Director Leslie Adler announced this partnership with the Culver City Rotary Club when the check was presented. The two Culver City schools benefitting from the grant are La Ballona and Lin Howe.
"We are so excited about this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Culver City students," says Adler.
The grant will provide for the purchase of teacher laptops and student chrome book computers for the two elementary schools. This grant will also allow students with limited technology access outside of the classroom to have it in their daily curriculum.
• La Ballona will receive 2- Chrombooks Carts, which includes 32 Chrombooks in each cart.
• Lin Howe will receive 31 laptops for their teachers; some MacBook's, PC's and IPads.

The project implementation will include installation, Teacher Training, Student Training and Independent usage. David Ross CCUSD's Technology for Learning Specialist will help each site with its specific training and learning goals based on the needs of the students.
Professional Learning Communities (PLC) has been created to help teachers from each site collaborate and share best practices.
The Culver City Rotary Club will have a school site visit once all the technology has been installed and will be informed of progress reports throughout the school year to be used for a grant final report. The computer technicians on each campus will determine the progress and skill level of each student throughout the school year.
