Culver City Legislators Avoid Runoffs

Culver City Legislators avoided runoffs in the November General Election by capturing over 50 percent of the vote in Tuesday's primary election.

Changes in State Law require a runoff of the top two candidates, regardless of party affiliation if no candidate receives the 50 percent required.

Congresswoman Karen Bass received over 81 percent of the vote and Assemblyman Sebastian Ridley-Thomas over 83 percent.

Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas whose district covers Culver City ran unopposed and was reelected.
