UCLA, USC Baseball Teams Hit The Road

The UCLA and USC baseball teams are down to the most important part of their season. Both schools need to win their last three Pac-12 games if they expect to make the NCAA playoffs.

USC is 26-27 overall and 13-13 in the Pac-12 and UCLA is 25-28 and 12-15. The good news is the rest of the conference is in the same boat.

“We are fighting for our playoff lives right now,” said UCLA head coach John Savage. “There are a lot of teams fighting to get into the playoffs and we are one of them.”

The first place team in the conference, Utah is 17-10 and 23-26 overall. Eight teams are within four wins of each other so the NCAA playoffs spots will come down to the last game of the season.

“It’s going to come down to pitching and defense,” said Savage. “But we also need to come up with offensive production if we expect to win the rest of these games.”

The Bruins will travel to Oregon State beginning today (Friday) at 4 p.m. They continue their three-game series against the Beavers on Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m.

The Trojans will start their three-game road trip against Arizona State tonight (Friday) at 7 p.m., Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday the first pitch will be at 2 p.m.
