Dear City Council:
I was very distressed at hearing that the strip mall in Fox Hills is in escrow. It seems that there are a few options being considered for this coveted parcel of land.
I am hoping for a mixed-use property development, as opposed to a car dealership or low-income housing. Playa Vista was supposed to provide affordable housing. What happened there? We do not want to see our property values dwindle.
Many of us enjoy the convenience of having some retail options in our neighborhood. To abolish them for another high-rise will only exacerbate the traffic problems that are already pronounced in our area.
There are already condos being built near the Howard Hughes on ramp. What is going to happen once construction is completed there? More traffic. I also hear that there's another hotel slated for our neighborhood. We already have three within about a one-mile radius.
Do we really need another one? It shouldn’t take 20 minutes to get to Playa Vista, and that’s exactly what is happening with all this construction.
Please keep some of the retail outlets that we have grown accustomed to. It's easy to get in and out of this parking lot, making the shopping experience an enjoyable one.
