The UCLA women's basketball team will battle the University of Hawaii in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday inside Pauley Pavilion at 3:30 p.m. on the UCLA campus. The Bruins finished the regular season 24-8 and Hawaii is 21-10.
UCLA placed fourth in their conference with a record of 14-4 while Hawaii was 12-4 in conference play. Both teams recorded four wins in their last five games but the Bruins appear to be a better offensive team.
The Bruins offense is led guards sophomore Jordin Canada and senior Nirra Fields. Sophomore forward Monique Billings is also having a good offensive year but the key to the Bruins offense maybe the play of junior guard Kari Korver.
Korver has been in a season long shooting slump but if the she can recapture her shooting touch in the NCAA tournament the Bruins can make a deep run.
