When Culver City High's Danger Zone Dance Company considers "Where It All Comes Together," you can't be certain of where they'll end up.
Known for their creative dance theater work, the dance students and faculty of CCHS' Academy of Visual and Performing Arts are up to their old tricks; inventing new, lively, and imaginative expressions of western and world dance ideas for the Frost stage.
"Where It All Comes Together" will be performed on Friday and Saturday, November 20 and 21 at 7 pm in the Robert Frost Auditorium at Culver City High. Admission is $8 general and $6 ASB, faculty, seniors, and children under 12. Tickets are available at the door before the concert.
"The students' choreography is really the highlight of the evening," explains Julie Carson, Artistic Director of Dance for the AVPA. "Our students have arrived at a place where their technical and creative experiences have come together. Their work is unique and very exciting.
" We used to stay away from fall concerts to encourage our students to concentrate on their technical proficiency. We have come to a time when the students are ready to create and perform just a few months into the fall semester.
"In addition to the students, this year's concert will also feature the work of three of the dance department's faculty members: Sadie Yarrington and AVPA alums Becca Cousineau and Christian Espinel. This small group of dance faculty have been quite an inspiration to the students, and they bring new technical and creative challenges.
The Robert Frost Auditorium is located at Culver City High, 4401 Elenda St.
